Def Cat Records is a Hollywood based record label supporting musicians in the South Florida area.

Timothy LaRoque is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Hollywood, Florida. From a young age, music has been a crucial part of his life. Frontman for local bands “The Summit” and “The Def Cats”, Timothy is currently working on the release of his newest project, “Stuck In The Past.” Engineered by Chuck Ainlay and produced by Rob Arthur (Tim’s uncle who also plays keys on the record), the 6-song EP features the likes of veteran musicians Shawn Fichter (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill), Will Lee (Late Show with David Letterman), and Adam Lester (Peter Frampton).

What started out as just a hobby for a group of South Broward High School band students has quickly blossomed and matured into a very special experience for both the band and those fortunate enough to listen in, with the group channeling a wide range of classic influences in their musicianship and unique sound. Having become friends with Oly through “Let’s Sang” karaoke nights at Gramps in Wynwood over the years, Tim was approached in April 2021 about a new weekly event they were hosting, “Rock ‘N Roll Sundays,” finally bringing live music back. Wanting to start fresh after a year of not playing any shows and performing with The Summit, he assembled his ideal “dream band”, creating a supergroup amongst the scene. A musical favorite in Miami for their energetic, heartfelt performances, the Def Cats have performed all over the 305 (the Freehold, FTX Arena, Key Biscayne Yacht Club, SpacePark, etc) and have no intentions of slowing down.

The Def Cats consist of Justin Godbolt (drums), Timothy LaRoque (vocals/guitar), and Mario Lemus (vocals/bass).
